Online against humans. I've played hundreds against the AI.
My point being, I'm about half as good against a human, than I am against the AI. That's a big leap. Feels bad.

Do more puzzles and less bot games and you'll start climbing. I had a similar start to chess. Not that I'm any good now, but I'm enjoying the game in the 1000 range playing humans.
Ya, Jonny, I'm doing a lot of puzzles lately. It's definitely helping me see things I didn't before, and think in a different way.
They should up the AI a bit...it feels weird to win against 1100 bots all day and then get beat by 700-800s back to back a handful of times.
I learned somewhere the bots are a few hundred off in 'relative skill' to humans, but if feels more like double difference.
Well, I realize I'm trash today, officially.
I've been practicing, doing lessons, puzzles. I've cleared the AI bots all the way up to the second advanced player...so I can beat 1400 level AI here and there. I can beat the 1200 about 50/50...
Human players? 700 smoke me. Well. I guess I'll just go find some of my friends who don't breath chess to play. Maybe I'll win against a human some day.
