I know that the word "Troll" has a negative connotation in these forums and I sincerely hope I am not trolling, but I would like to know just what "troll" and "trolling" is.

In chess terms a "Troll" moves like the king but can not be taken or take other pieces :) both Trolls start on e4 and e5 and their favorite squares are corners. Every time a Troll reach a corner square at the opponents back rank he/she will get one extra pawn able to put on every empty square on the board AND an extra Troll on e4 or e5 if the starting square of the Troll is empty at that moment. This is called Trolling ^-^

If you have MORE threads than friends...........You might be a Chess.com troll.             If you NEED to comment on as many threads as possible........You might be a Chess.com troll.                                                                                                        If you've played NO chess games here in 6 months,..........You might be a Chess.com troll.

Most people in forums or internet gaming tend to call someone a troll for a variety of reasons, and a lot of the time those reasons are not justified. FYI, a troll is someone who tries to sow discord among people usually in an internet chat group or something similar using lies and faulty logic as their weapons. Internet trolling in the chess.com sector has become more of a juvenile endeavor, and the people who call themselves trolls, like Kaynight, are more comedian than anything else. If you are looking for a real troll, then chess.com is the wrong place to look.

Actually, it seems like a troll post: diverting from an actual discussion by using sarcasm to overbroadly generalize.
