In Defense of e4

I have no intention of starting a you-know-what storm here but e4 is better than d4 and I'm going to prove it by challenging fiveofswords to a duel. Join me on live chess fiveofswords, and we will play a game to see if you can beat my e4.

Everyone has their own opinions but e4 is awesome.

d4 I think is more positional and e4 is more agressive.

Yes,I also think that in e4 there are a lot of openings and e4 is quite aggressive

I play e4 as white

e4 might be more sound for a tactical-type player, who prefers open and agressive positions. Of course there are always exceptions but 1.e4 usually leads to such positions. That doesn't make it better or worse than d4 I believe, it just depends on which style of play suits you best. Perhaps for a "strangler" type of player 1.c4 is going to work out best. Therefore, I believe it shouldn't be said that one is better than the other. :)

You can play d4 like Tal and e4 like karpov. My teacher tends to play e4 like karpov using a carlsen-esque repertoire.

Sure. I'll play you. But e4 isn't a draw. There's too many possibilities for it to be a draw.

e4 e5 Nf3 is unclear. 

e4 e5 Nf3 Nc6 Bb5(But Bc5 is good as well if you play the dynamic games, fried liver and evans gambit).

The Berlin is not drawn. I have a line that disrupts it entirely. The zaitsev is too dynamic to be drawn. I don't know where the draw is.
