I could try to threaten both bishops with my queen, and maybe give my king some breathing space

If they trade bishops good for you, they traded their active piece for one that wasn’t doing anything

Qa4 sacrifices your queen to the bishop

White is winning because they are up an exchange and since the king is in an unusual spot we should try g3 to get the king safe and just develop. That’s it.

The white king is actually not in very much danger, though White should obviously still be careful.

My first immediate thought for Black was 12...Bc6, because the bishop pair is quite powerful and it would be bad to lose it. After that, it's time to castle.

White is not winning. Being up the exchange for a piece and two pawns is not the same as being up an exchange. Also black has major compensation because of white's king safety and underdevolopment. The position is around equal
