So, the more insane, the better you play? I should be rated much higher then....
Insanity and chess ratings

It's simple really...
You play 2500 games, your rating will be 2500.
You play 3000 games, your rating will be 3000.
You play 10000 games, your rating will be 10000!!!!

I was thinking more like persons are judged insane in comparison with their peers, and chess ratings are made in comparison with their peers. Hmm...seems like I should have more thoughts there

Yes. As an animal spieces we have different individuals but expected/average values to many characteristics (number of chromosomes, puberty's age, neural activity under some circunstances, etc.), but there are always people that diverge from the average (numerically up or down).

Right, I just lost the train of thought. So the chess rating system is a comparative judgement system seeking to guess a player's ability to win. While an insanity evaluation is based upon the person's proclivity to be irrational. Now, in life, one comes across people who are just nuts. Just like how chess players come across grandmasters. There is just no doubt that they're really good at chess. But the majority of people are not grandmasters and are not completely insane. So we rate them!

I thought it would be interesting to go insane after retirement, when I didn't have any compelling reason to stay sane. Then my children revealed that when it comes to crazy, there is no point in my trying to compete with them. So, for now at least, I choose relative sanity. Call it a self-defense mechanism.

Are you talking about chess ratings or insanity?

Depends how exactly you define " Insane ".
That's what I'm getting at, how we all define "insane". Do we use a rating system like chess?

It's like we know how health professionals judge insanity, and we know how law enforcement judges insanity--kind of. But thoughout the course of our everyday existence each one of us probably makes a judgement on who is insane and who isn't insane. But it's not really black and white like that. It's like people have insanity ratings, just like chess! If people we come across in life have an inclination of being irrational then they get a higher rating. But that rating may move up and down daily. So we all start rated 1200 insanity points. Then some people immediately rise up in points the longer you're around them, while others decrease in points where they don't seem to be irrational very much at all. Am I making sense now, or did I just get a grandmaster title of insanity?

Indeed. I actually can't figure him. We talk and I always feel... misplaced? He's like Dalinian? Sorry, this is a mistery that exceed my language skills even in Spanish, and I don't want to be off topic.
Okay, so I've been thinking of 'insanity' this morning. Isn't insanity based upon the pool of people the alleged insane people are around, like how chess ratings are based upon the pool of players you play against? Is the rating system for chess based upon insanity evaluations?
