im 10 and started seriously 4 months ago and im 1200
Is 700 a good rapid rating for a 13 year old(me)?
I was 900 just by knowing how the pieces move and that you should put pawns in the center and castle quickly.
At the time I didn’t even know of the 50 move rule or very basic positional rules of thumb, like trying to keep the pawn wall in front of your king as undisturbed as possible, or avoiding bad pawns.
Age means nothing in chess, stop thinking it affects your rating because it doesn't, you need to compare yourself with the other people

700 is repectable, and you'll probably be able to beat anybody who dont play at all, but it is honestly pretty low among "actual" chess players. There isn't a correlation between age and rating, it all depends on how long you have been playing for.

plus if you put any dedication to chess you should reach 1000 in a month, otherwise you're stupid. No Offense

700 is a bad rating no matter what your age is...
... but if you're new to chess it could be a very good rating. On day 1 a person's actual rating is probably negative if we're being honest. 700 means you've made progress, so that's good, but virtually everyone who wants to improve beyond 700 is able to do so with a minimal amount of study and practice, so I think it's fair to say it's not a "good" rating.
There is no "good" or "standard" rating for a certain age.
Agreed.
As an 11-year-old my rapid is above average, but that doesn't mean I'm good. There are always people higher and lower-rated than you. Just work at your own pace.
this 11 year old is more mature than me 💀
I think if you are just playing for fun then 700 is a good rating but if your trying to be the best you are going to have to work and get a lot better.
