Is chess a sport? Ending the debate

For those 4 people in the world who still think chess is a sport I understand the dictionary definition means nothing. I realize the commonly accepted understanding of words like "chess" "board game" and "sport" mean nothing. So I suggest those 4 people go to their nearest sports bar and not only keep a tally of how often chess is played on the TVs but also conduct a poll. Ask all the employees AND patrons of the sports bar if chess is a sport. I only ask that a video of the exchange is posted on youtube. I would love to see the responses.

CHESS IS A SPORT!!! EVERYONE IN MY CLASS SAYS IT IS NOT, THEIR STUPID
"their" stupid?
talk about foot in mouth...

Here is the first half of the definition of the word sport:
"...an activity involving physical exertion and skill..."
"...A physical skill, one that requires bodily exertion...". So, peeling an apple qualifies here, so does sewing a button onto a shirt, screwing a screw with a screwdriver...
These are all examples of, "a physical skill, that weighs on the human body"
Can your brain(mind) alone peel an apple? Sew a button? Turn a screw with a screwdriver?
A "physical skill" chess is not.
Chess is played only in the mind...

And you use your hands to physically move the pieces. Can your brain alone move a chesspiece?
