okay so summed up there was this girl (looked amazing btw and super sweet) that got my number from one of my coworkers and she called me saying i looked cute and we should hangout watch a movie at her place or something one night i said sweet just name a time she said Saturday evening would be perfect..... i told her that there was a chess tournament that day..... she called me a fat nerd and a loser then she blocked me on everything chat am i cooked?

I think this deserves a thoughtful answer. So. On one level, if a fellow human being has denigrated you because you have a prior commitment of any sort (and "fat nerd and loser" sounds like an unpleasant person throwing the toys out of the pram) the chances are that not becoming involved with them is something of a lucky escape. On another level, you have been true to your commitments and intentions. On another level, this already reveals your priorities - had you wanted the date more than the chess you'd not have said what you said and would have missed the tournament. On yet another level, you were honest about your reasons and that says you're a good person. As someone who plays a lot of chess and has been married for 33 years I can tell you that chess and a Significant Other are two very different but complementary blessings. But neither works if you pretend to be something other than that which you are. So I say you have done well and been true to yourself here.
