chess is better as it improves powers of calculative thinking and brings pleasure, unlike fortnite, which provides no skill other than just unprofitable enjoyment and addiction

both take time and effort to master. but for some reason if you tell someone that you want to master fortnite they would be like... um ok. . but if you tell them you're mastering chess, they would be like: wow what a smart person!

I think that chess requires deeper thinking which has benefits on your brain. even though you can also think alot in fortnite it gets very repetitive and machine like after a while. another aspect can be that chess hasn't changed for centuries and fortnite keeps changing every 5 days, making it inconsistent to master and therefore loses it's "skill" category.

FortNite has thought me a few things I will probably never use. But. If I ever get into a big gunfight I know a few things:
- My strength is my situational strategy
- My weakness is that I fire and forget to hide
- And I should always look for the high ground, as if it was the centre if my chessboard.
I enjoy chess far far more then Fortnite. I don’t think I learned something useful though.
Give me 10 years alone one an island with a good chess book and the ability to make a board and pieces. I think I’ll be ok. Give me an island and nothing but Fortnite, I think I will go crazy and start to search and shoot about 99 other people.

Fornite is dumb... real adults play CSGO, DOTA, and FINAL FANTASY.
That’s a good question both are equally as fun and shouldn’t be comparable.

So many people are addicted to Fortnite. No one in the general public thinks too highly of chess. In reality it is far better for your mind to play chess.

I think it is unfair to compare the hundreds of thousands of video games out there to a single game, so I would rather compare one of the most popular video games to one of the most popular board games, and answer a very debatable question: is Chess better than Fortnite? My opinion is yes, chess is better, but lots of others think differently.
