They sell a product for a given price and you have all the information available about what you are paying for. Therefore there is no scam my friend, all tho it's a pretty funny question

yeah but theyre dishonest about everything else. No one should be paying 100 dollars for a yearly chess subscription

well, put it that way, it's 2 dollars per week. If you feel that chess.com as a chess club is worth 2 dollars a week, pay it. If you don't, don't. You can even play here for free, and that's certainly no scam.

You have some kind of inside knowledge of the honesty of staff? Or what value people find in having a subscription to the site?

There are 365 days in a year. If members are on a yearly term, diamond is $0.33 a day. Month-to-month it's $0.57 a day (both disregarding any tax and monthly based on 30 days)

If you think it's a scam then why did you buy a membership?

This is the guy who doesn’t want to put any effort into his game but wants chess.com to give him ez rating points, and now that everyone is pointing how lazy and entitled that is, he’s making multiple posts calling chess.com “a scam” and “evil” - so they’re an attention seeker as well as lazy

I subscribed about a month ago after a free week to try it out. As an older adult, I wasn't so much interested in becoming a great chess player (not gonna happen!). Rather, I was looking for an activity that could help me maintain focus and concentration and have some fun at the same time. Anyway, for what it costs, the stuff on the site is amazing, and great fun. The puzzles, the lessons, being able to play live games or practice against bots, and on and on. While getting up to speed, I had a couple of questions about stuff that happened and the chess.com team got back to me quickly with answers. This is not a paid endorsement! But I'm really happy that I found this. And if there are some issues and/or frustrations that come up from time to time...so what?

We should be very grateful to be able to play chess against people all over the world.
