Is Gotham chess a good channel to learn chess
If you want bad advice mixed with good. If you want entertainment over instruction. If you don't mind learning openings that you will never understand, and hence you are comfortable losing complex middle games that are over your head, but will never blame your poor choice of opening, then Gotham is for you.
@MinatoNamikazeUzumaki YES! He is a great and one of the best ways to learn how to get better!
Not only does he give videos on funny content he also gives content on how to get better!
I'm a self taught player just from him! The only con is. He will get you so far, YOU need to be able to put in the work and advice he gives you to get better. 😉

His older videos actually are good. And the ideas are there as well. Currently, he just does entertainment and acts as a sort of new reporter for the ches world
Couldn't have said it better myself!

why would you watch levy when there are actual top GM's like Hikaru giving out free content and learning stuff, also there are numerous GM's giving out content or learning for free
His 10 minute opening videos was quite unique back in 2020 when they were released and is main reason why I play Caro-kann as black. It’s also why I play Vienna with white.
nowadays there are way better video sources for improving your chess
Well, this is a year old, but I guess other people bumped it first, so...
I think he's one of the weirdest players out there. He's the subject of all sorts of memes (more than just THE ROOK!) and most people primarily know him for his tendency to be really energetic and/or eccentric, especially when something absolutely nuts happens in a game he's playing or reviewing. But general silliness and weirdness aside, he's titled for a reason, and his instructive videos (as opposed to his "OMG Magnus" and "LOL look at these guys they really suck at chess LOL" videos) make for very useful learning material. He may be the "funny guy" of the chess world, but he knows when to be serious.
