Is it better to allow checkmate or resign?

you should checkmate them because they will only be too happy to let you lose on time.

game is finished when i say so, not when some "global chessiverse" rules about giving up dictate to me.

never resign!

it's the matter of honor.

show them what ur made of even when they think they put u at ur knees, show them u won't kneel. they bite hard - give ur best to bite them harder!

and if they finish u at least die fighting.

If it’s an obvious forced mate in 2 moves, what does it matter? Why not let my opponent have the joy of a checkmate. If it’s an end game when I have no chance and will lose in ten moves then maybe I resign. Do I think my opponent has the skills to finish me off? I have won or drawn a lot of games where I was doomed. Opponent got careless and missed a move.
I think a lot of players think that losing by resignation is not as bad as being checkmated. It is, maybe it’s worse. If my opponent has worked hard and created a beautiful mate, I want him to enjoy executing it.

i have had opponents resign when the position was equal. They thought they were doomed but they doomed themselves
