So  i started playing chess in 2013 and my rating here is 1504 which i am quite happy with. I have a mission to reach at least 1800 by the end of this year and i just wanted to know if you guys think its realistic and if you know any to grandmasters today that started playing chess seriously at ages  13-15 or even higher (just wondering it might even  add more hope)

Of course it is not too old. Where did you hear that? We get the same question from 50 year old guys. You can always improve.

How did you choose 1800 as your goal for this year? Look at the distribution of standard ratings here (You can see this for other rating categories at Players- Live Chess ) :

You are trying to go from a little above average player to pretty close to the top of the curve by the end of the year.  Standard ratings here have been very compressed.

They tried to fix it by making an adjustment last year but the graph still shows that the curve is still not smooth and there are very few players rated above 1750.

Even some IM's were reported as having 1800 ratings last year.  If you look at the live version, it appears that out of 826,522 rated players, an 1800 rating would put you in the top 10,000. That seems a little unrealistic for a one year goal.

Your goal may not be reasonable. Therefore, you should not be upset if you do not reach it. You should try to set more realistic goals. Perhaps getting to 1600 by the end of the year.
