Is it ok for you to play the same line for both sides? What is your decision strategy while choosing

I can't force myself to play the same line for both sides. For example, I play Sicilian mostly after 1. e4 and Sicilian is the only one opening I play for both sides. But I nave never played the same line as black as white: I like to play against closed variation, so I would never play this line for white.

How do you feel about this problem? Playing against my favourite line is the same as admit to myself that I am playing against myself with and my opponent in different teams.

I see no problem playing the 1st 10 moves of Sicilian Najdorf English Attack with both colors. The player who is more accurate in tactics wins. But in the case of Gruenfeld Defense, as white, I would prefer the Russian variation. My opponent usually go for Exchange variation..
