As for as i know, bots can't resign.

But can they?

Technically, anything is possible. The bots are just code wrapped around the engine so it could be coded to resign at any point the coders wanted to add (losing a queen, being down at some evaluation, etc).

So your coders would resign upon losing a queen or being down at some evaluation? Wow, what fighters you are!

Those are suggestions, based on the OPs post, but could be anything. Some players resign when losing their queen. I'll resign if I'm down majorly in material and don't think  might be able to get some kind of compensation.

I doubt the site will ever add resignation since many people want to play the game out and bots don't care wink

I understand that, but why the “wink”?

There should be an option for bots to offer resignation and for the user to accept or continue the game.

I just played a game against a low level bot 3 min and it resigned in the endgame with only it's king left. I didn't expect it and thought it would try to wiggle into a stalemate, but to my amazement, it resigned.

I once played a bot. I left it for a few hours and then when I came back it showed that it had resigned.

I played against a bot (Janjay) and it resigned after checkmate somehow

Yes, they can, since Chessmaster 2000.

Chessmaster 3000 (1991) lets you customize when it will give up, a certain number of pawns behind.

Joke.

Listen. Understand.

That Terminator is out there.

It can't be reasoned with,

it can't be bargained with...

it doesn't feel pity of remorse or fear...

and it absolutely will not stop.

Ever. Until you are dead.
