I don't know how often it's done, but you can also have someone gift you a membership by clicking on the appropriate icon on your Profile page. Of course, in the context of your post, someone would have to gift you the membership.

There's no such thing as a chess.com title. You need to get a FIDE title and then submit a title registration.

You have to play over-the-board rated chess to get a title to qualify for a free membership here. For the USCF, you could potentially get to 2200 and get the NM title and the fastest time control you could do that with is G/30 or longer.
