Is it possible to challenge another member to a game directly?

If so, how is this done?

Sure. The easiest way is to click on the user name. Brings up a box with 5 symbols at the bottom. Challenge looks like a chessboard.

Of course you might have to Connect>Members>Search Members to first find them.

And if the other member has "accept challenges" turned off in their Privacy Settings, then you can't challenge them.
