If I were you i wouldnt have resigned because thats a good sign hes on tilt imo, and he'd probably end up blundering and losing lol
Is it right to threaten to block someone if they don't resign when they are losing?

Who cares if you are blocked by a mannerless fool? They are doing you a favor. Tell them, thank you.

I don't think what they said makes sense. I think it makes sense for you to not resign. But as others have said, it doesn't sound like this is a person it would be positive to interact more with anyway.

I was playing a chess game and was down a piece, then the person threatened to block me if I didn't resign. I resigned because I was losing anyway but I also wanted to play for the win because as Gothamchess likes to say: never resign. Is it right to threaten to block someone when they are losing? Why do they not allow someone to play the game out and just have fun?
My guy. Even if you are losing, you should continue to play. Don't give a damn on what others are saying and play for your own fun.

Wasting time is a curious expression.
Best to learn playing people better than you.
Can’t expect to win these games.
Just learn.
For someone to expect you to forfeit for losing out is quite simply an ego move on their part.
Sure, they don’t want to ‘waste their time’ but they’ve lost the respect for the part of learning that surely they are still going through (unless they’re an unbeaten GM, which I don’t think exists).
Curious indeed.
[Removed - DB]Perspective ay?
Wasting time, IMO, is also threatening to block people if they don’t forfeit, simply because they are learning.
Aggressive and self-serving, not everyone is here for others, nor do they have to be.
If world domination is your goal, many will have to fall.
Waste of time?
Maybe I just wasted mine 🙃
I don’t think I did though.
Enjoy

Just wait until your opponent run out his time and report him stalling time . Keep be friendly to your every opponent .

If he doesn't want to waste time tell him to go play bullet. Don't listen to some random guy on the internet. People like these end up blundering easily. And why do you care if he blocks you. What are you gonna do with a clean record of no one blocking you? Just don't care, and maybe if you want you can also do a bit of trolling (like saying you will resign but don't). If I was in your situation I would make sure to give my best in that game and win that game with that opponent dumbfounded.
