Is it THAT hard to get to 2000 elo?
Yea the chess.com 2300 bots here are easy to beat..but I'm 1700
Yeah, the bots are significantly worse than their rating.
If hitting 2000 is really ‘not that hard,’ then how come the majority of chess players can’t even cross 1200, thousands grind for years stuck at 1500–1700, and even content creators celebrate when they finally reach 2000—doesn’t that prove it actually is a tough milestone and not some casual rating anyone can just grab?
Idk, it's been a year since I played lol. It should be easier now.
2000 ELO Online is pretty easy if you're consistent, and most people only struggle because they are too busy or don't want to dedicate around 30 minutes every day to Chess. 2000 OTB is a whole different story.
2000 elo is all about dedication. You don't need to pull your hair out over long nights, you just need to play and study consistently a bit every day.

I think it's easy only if your play deserves a 2000 rating, in which case, yes, it's easy. Cramling did it in 8 1/2 hours.
