if this is true, people will all be strong like engines, but u must never forgive that humans are better than engines so nothing will change!

So is chess about to become extinct, or will chess survive. Will chess still be played in the future?

Seriwan Sharper Chess or something very, very close is the future unlike other variants it doesn't destroy the symetry or harmony of the game or requires a larger board to play.

The rules of the game haven't been updated since the 1500's but were long overdue if it refreshes the game and makes all the memorization and computer crap people depend on to win go away for awhile why not?!

Thy struggle as Lasker would say continues.

Yes..... Long live Chess but some of you are devoting too much time to discussing the absurd. Play games out.  Study. Debrief yourselves.  Analyze. Review what you write.

Stop trying to make it to the first page and work instead on the Tactics part of this website.

Only occasionally does anyone over 2000 write anything here.... Think about that...

I will bury my chess sets so that they become fossils.

There are 2 'boardgames' out there, {and, probably more}, that give the best computers, a tougher challenge, than 'chess'..{ie. 'weiqi' or 'Go' and 'Shogi'}.

To keep ahead of the 'curve' of 'software' having solved all of a selected games, intricacies; Will necessitate, a continual evolution, of 'boardgames' becoming, more complex in nature.

the future of many Past events is that, doing something faster, stronger, and automated is no fun.

just as cars, bikes, planes and trains haven't meant the end of running.

even computers in your brain wouldn't mean the end of chess- it would only mean that games would be played with those computers turned off. IMHO. ofc.
