I dont think there is a name for that.
Is there a name for this in chess?
It's generally agreed castling is advisable for King safety. What about in certain positions where castling is possible but the player intentionally chooses not to, and instead moves the King forward to the next rank. Perhaps because the centre is locked with pawns which the King can safely hide behind which is better than the sides which might be more exposed.
I really DK?
Yep my name was inspired by the DK villain
Who do you mean the, "don't know villain" who is them is that me?
I don't think it has any name but there's plenty of times when keeping the king in the center makes good sense. U might reach the conclusion that the middle game will be brief and not dangerous and having the king centralized would give u a head start for the endgame. As u know a centralized king is good most of the time in the ending.
