Quite straight forward. Speed chess will not get chess classified as a sport along with rugby, tennis, football, and cricket. Because it's not one.

Capeesh?

It is accepted as a sport by many national and international governing bodies my friend.   It might not be as physical as those sports,  but its still physically demanding.  Chess is the only sport I ever heard of a tournament being controversially called off because they thought one of the players was going to die from exhaustion.

If people played each other at Mario kart for 3 months it'd get called off for exhaustion too.

Again

- it's not a sport

- blitz isn't going to make a blind bit of difference to it's classification. I assure you

mario kart is a sport as well my friend.   But lets face it.  You are another troll account who doesn't even play games here,  Who wants to justify his disrespect for the game and the people that do.

Blitz is literally the future of chess.

You putting Mario kart on the same level as chess is offensive to the people who would argue that chess is a sport, no?

Only people interested in my games are chodes such as yourself.

Only to those with a superiority complex.   Which probably alot of them yes.   If there are elements of luck in the game though I wouldn't consider it a sport.  but I haven't looked that deeply at it.   I consider chess on chess.com another e-sport in general.

I'm just pointing out how suspect you are and what your likely motives are.  I constantly want to point to the fact,  that people like you,  are the majority of people arguing with me in these forums for obvious reasons.  And I want to use you as an example for what is wrong with the internet in general for all the kids watching.   People like you simply don't count and should not be taken seriously.   I"m only here to counter your narrative on a public forum for their benefit.  Because you don't matter to me either.

Salty boy loses the argument ^

Chess isn't a sport, unless you consider Mario kart a sport.

Blitz is irrelevant, and even Optimissed will tell you about English school.

Regards games, stopped playing here because people like yourself were fixated on my games.

Why do you deserve any value from me, whatsoever?

I consider e-sports sports,  yes indeed.

People like me were fixated on your games?   Why would that scare you?  Suspect.    I've heard that same argument fropm every troll on here, including btickler and mpaetz.     I find that excuse totally fake.  You could just block people,  ignore them.   But this shows you have no pride in your account,  don't care enough about the game or site to even play here,   and are simply here to troll people and for no other reason.   It means nothing you say is sincere or should be taken seriously because you don't even care about yourself.

So it is extremely ironic that you cried yourself right out of the game and call me the salty one.  And its ironic you ask what value I am to you,   when you replied to me first,  and I explained the value you provide to me.

And its not luck that its mostly troll accounts who don't play games here trolling me.   Its natural.

Much better than you at this game despite much less time and effort.

Again, why do you deserve to look at my games?

Ask me politely, and I'll consider it.

anyone should be able to look at your game?

As I explained in detail meaning the CHANCE to win,  CHANCE to make good or bad moves.  And the only element of "RANDOM CHANCE",  is the choosing of ones color.   But I make the point neither of these things are "LUCK",  because by definition they have to be a force without HUMAN ability,  and directly cause SUCCESS or FAILURE.    You're definition of "GAMES OF CHANCE", is an accepted label for a type of game based solely on  RANDOMIZING DEVICES, as you clearly explained.   But that doesn't negate the fact that all games have chances even though chess is not considered a game of chance.    I understand this is confusing to you,  and this is why someone like Patriot thinks chance means luck,   but this is why I am explaining it in detail.

It's pretty obvious from your post #1690, and the ones immediately following, that you didn't know what "game of chance" meant, and your attempt to correct me was wrong.

And that's fine.

We can all be wrong about things, it happens, it's not a big deal.

But instead of taking the mature route though, and for reasons I cannot fathom, you've gone into full freakout (ironic given your profile name). You've whacked on caps lock, and just started mashing keys. What's it for? Do you think it hides your mistake? Do you think you'll convince anyone when you've ceased even making arguments?

Telling people when they've conceded is a unilateral declaration, by definition.

You don't understand game design.  That's not a crime, so I'll leave it at that.  Toodles.

Your statement conceded the point. This isn't "Simon says"; you can concede the point without needing to utter the specific phrase "I hereby formally concede".

If I claim all vegetables taste bad, then later say I think carrots are delicious, I've conceded the point without needing to make a formal declaration of such.

As for your point about game design, 1. That is just your assertion...what is your cite for the claim that "luck" has this specific definition in this context and 2. It isn't a question of game design anyway. The question is whether luck is a factor, not whether the "designers" of chess (I'm putting that in scare quotes because the game evolved over centuries) intended luck to be a factor.

But I don't get why a discussion on luck in chess got so heated. This topic has come up several times before and I never saw it this disfunctional.

To see if you are honest or not.  Something you have no concept of.  In all sports players stats are available to see.  Its what makes them sports.  again something you have no concept of.  Your profile comes as no surprise from your actions on the forums.  It screams troll.  Pouting and quitting the game because of what you consider poor play and sticking around to do nothing but troll it,  is the epitome of a poor sport.

And I have to say again,  its no surprise that when people have no concept of sports or sporting competition,  They definitely will have no concept of skill verse luck.

Not a sport.

You don't deserve to spectate me or follow me as if it's such.

Improved at rapid and am happy with my approach to this game. You aren't.

And you divert since I trashed your argument - which is the entire basis of your gaming philosophy. That chess is a sport, and that speed chess isn't going to make any difference to that classification (such as that used in British schools).

Ad-hominem since I trashed his argument, so I will respond in kind.

Slob who sits on his backside watching "Twitch" and playing online all day.

Reads 3 chess books, doesn't even use a board, then proclaims that books don't work.

Tells a 600 player "not to bother. It's impossible".

Keep this guy away from other low rated players.

There is no such thing as "luck".

Yes in my expert opinion there is a lot of luck in chess

SlimJim07

lol.  that was your own fault though so its not luck.

yeah exactly

rakka2000

Because I had 1 minute left, so I was talking to other people in my house and I didn't pay attention to time. That is luck because my opponent is lucky other peopel are bother me

rakka2000

I play CHESS and was DISTRACTED BY OUTSIDE INFLUENCERS. That is obviously LUCK and is PART OF CHESS. Because I was playing CHESS.

Therefore we can be in agreement that there is luck in chess
