Is this called jelousy or something else?

Many people i met while playing chess who became rude or jelous losing to me and they mostly initiated rematch. Even if it seems i am better (or equal) but they just don't accept that point being jelous or whatever i can't guess, even in some cases they don't agree with me that my game plan was better or likewise they debate with me on my move to prove it was not what i think better. Human nature is difficult to understand and it's a common thing that one don't want to surrender and becomes jelous simply or what could it be?. What your thought about that and in this regard with whom you encountered so far?

I don't think that jealousy is the word you want. People who lose can get extremely frustrated or even humiliated but I don't think that jealousy is usually involved. Jealousy is usually used to describe feelings when one's love partner starts showing affection towards others or if someone has possessions or wealth that you feel entitled to.

You said that after you win, you like to discuss the match and you don't understand why your opponent won't simply agree that your plan or your moves were better.  They debate with you, defending their choices.

When you lose, do you say something complimentary to your opponents? Do you readily admit that their plan or moves were better?

Why do you initiate such discussions?  People who have just lost are not generally in a good mood. Are you seeking to further humiliate your opponents? Why not just give them a rematch instead of trying to get them to admit something?

// Why have you given up rated chess? Your last 150 games have all been unrated.

Its online chess, people react differently than if it had been a game  in person.  So take the "jealousy" for what its worth.

Please describe your feelings at the moment your opponent played 21.. Qxe4.

Were you jealous? I doubt it.

Do you believe he had a better plan? Did you seek to discuss it with him afterwards?

Did you suggest that 21..Qxe4 was a blunder and that 21..Qxd1+ would have been a better move?

I always find my own moves suck when discussing a game, whatever the result was.

I at times become jealous of my own chess play...and other times i cry...

@notmt.. wat i meant by jelousy that opp don't feel/ say that i am better and even make arguments or debate over these things. So isn't it the right word that they are jelous to me that becoz i am better but they not?. well the users u mentioned had not discussed anthin about that. My point is the fun topic but also on how to avoid them, it's irritating man. Ans of ur irrelevant question - i not playing rated game coz it's disturbing to get ups and downs again n again; also i quit blitz over standard high rating.

Notmtwain. I'm defiantly with you on this.

I think he will be wishing for his opponents to feel jealously over his own insecurities issues. Don't worry brother, we all have these feelings sometimes. Don't worry tho do the right thing and be a good sport :)

So when you play badly, it's an anomaly.

When your opponent plays badly and wants to try again, they're being unrealistic, and not recognizing you're as good or better than them.

I think you have your answer now: most people, and now including you, have personal standards and expectations of their play. When they don't meet those expectations, they want to try again.

"Jealous" is incorrect because it has nothing to do with you.
