Issue with other players accepting rematches

Why does no one ever accept a rematch? It seems almost every person on the site i've come across will not accept rematches and just leaves the game. On another site however I can get in a 10-12 match with a player and have some good back and forth. It's quite sad that this happens. I don't see why people decline rematches, as if they're afraid they may lose again or they don't want to possibly lose rating against the person they beat. It seems odd to me.
