Hello, recently i have reached 1400 in chess. i was really happy but then i have noticing from this month that i have been loosing many games. maybe i am in a slump or i am tired... i am getting pretty lazy in finding tactics on the board so should i take a break for few days or do something else? just a month before i fell from 1330 to 1230 but then i got back with 1400. and now again i got 50 points lower to 1350. Pls guide me.. Good dayhappy.png

In the past month I’ve been bouncing from 1700-2000. It’s annoying but it’s part of the game. I have thought about studying but don’t have any type of motivation to actually learn thru books or video. I just play for fun but my advice to you is to keep playing and don’t get frustrated.

Try to play the engine when tilted so your record doesn’t get effected.

How do you loose a game?

Mostly blundering in the endgame or middlegame

It's normal. Don't worry. Maybe study some games, but do it slowly. When you get back to playing, you should be in a different mindset.

Depends on if you think the losses are natural variance you are okay with, or if this is some form of burnout. If it is burnout, then take a short break for a day or two (maybe slightly more). If this is just variance, then don't take a break, or only take a break until the next day.

I also recently made a video on a similar topic by implementing a Stop-Loss System for chess to help control your rating drops.

I Think i am in a slump whenever i play a game i see i am playing completly good but at a certain point i make one blunder and suddenly all is lost i think i am going to a week or less break guys then i'll come fresh

I am taking a break, I just resigned from a ton of games and plan to have a month off of anything other than one or two random games at any given time. Sometimes you can get overwhelmed,
