Knights Secret…

The title might not fit this but, lets talk about something first before we get to the good stuff. Rooks move straight right? We all know, they move straight, left, right and backward. Now, while Rooks do that, BISHOPS move diagonal which is technically in between the Rook’s movement. So while that happens… THE KNIGHT MOVES IN A L SHAPE WHICH IS IN BETWEEN THE ROOK AND THE BISHOP’S MOVEMENT!! Mind blown, Chess creators got some real explaining to do

Why did Chess make knights go in the middle? I have no clue…

The way these movements complement each other is part of what makes chess so fascinating.

Knights do NOT move in an L-shape. This is a common misconception.

Rooks move forward or back, left or right. THey can be blocked if something gets in the way.

Bishops move diagonally. They can be blocked if something gets in the way.

Knights cannot be blocked.

This simple fact tells you that Knights cannot be moving in ANY orthogonal fashion... not by any possible combination of "Bishop-like" and "Rook-like" moves.

In fact, Knights teleport from point to point without actually crossing the intervening squares. That's why they cannot be blocked.
