The knight can like jump and stuff and things like that so it's like better and stuff.

Yep. The knight can get out of the starting gate even if the gate is closed. Let's go ahead and decide now, once and for all, that the knight is the best.

I think the knight is best because you can do tricky pins and attack in strange ways often from invulnerable position (nobody else can take you). When you put someone in check with a knight, they CAN NOT BLOCK it, so they have to take the knight or move their king, forcing castling. It's also much easier to do king/rook, king/queen, etc. forks with a knight than with a bishop.

Vote chess: Every time, knights win or it's a draw. Hmmm...

KNIGHTS!

Cum on no one for bishop

Also, 3 knights can force a checkmate.

You could have 9 bishops and still not force a checkmate (well, unless one of the bishops was on the 'other' color, but that would be like cheating and stuff)

I definitely prefer going for a swim at the beach.

Whereas the bishop is shaped like a big knobby thing.

And I prefer going for a swim at the sauna.

Look how worthless the bishop is.

All hail the mighty knight, you only need 3 to checkmate!

I have a preference for Knights, but think about this. You can force mate with 2 bishops, force mate with bishop+knight, but not with 2 Knights!

And when I am defending the exchange down, I feel that the Bishop is better, it can protect both sides, when its nearly impossible for knights.

But I like Knights since they're unpredictable in a sense that, they can do what any other piece can't thanks to their movement pattern.

Ok, I made one reply to this in jest, so I'll reply seriously also, because I think he's serious. It definitely depends on what type of game you see it developing into. If I  see an open game happening, I'd probably rather have the bishop. If I see a closed game developing, I might rather have the knight, depending on pawn structure. They are both worth 3 points, so technically, they're same-ish.

I made all my posts in jest.

For a serious one, Watson's "Secrets of Modern Chess Strategy" throws some doubt on a lot of the conventional wisdom regarding good/bad bishops and their pawns.

It agrees with position

Hm, that's usually when I am at my jestiest.

How about this? Knights are great SACRIFICIAL midgame pieces for forks and such. Bishops are good for openings and endgames. Happy?
