Kramnik / Fischer Mentality?

Asked about his feeling at failing to win the WCC against Viswanthan Anand, Kramnik replied ...

"We shouldn't forget that it's just a game, I mean ... it's a nice game, there is a lot at stake, world championship title, money, whatever you want to say [about it], but it's only a game, you know? It's not a reason to be depressed ... "

What?

Allow me to quote Bobby Fischer...

"Chess is life."

"All I want to do, ever, is just play chess."

I assume Bobby wouldn't agree with Kramnik... what do you think?

Bobby Fischer may have been great at chess, but he sucked at dying.

There wouldn't be many people that Fischer would agree with.

Well Kramnik and Fischer obvious disagreed in

 "It's not a reason to be depressed ... "

I prefer Kramnik's approach, you will have a better life that way.

I like and admire Krammnik's attitude.  Chess like other activitites is a game.  It doesnt define who or what you are as a human being. 

That's almost unfair... such a good balanced attitude in life and still so insanely good at chess...what gives??
