perhaps, but generally feminist prefer to focus on negative, boorish male behavior and do not provide positive feedback on the decent behavior they do encounter or wish to encourage. I recall once, out of common courtesy, holding a door open for a women and being insulted for doing it. I've witnessed another woman dumping her soft drink on a mans dinner when he stepped away to get a napkin. Boorish behavior is a two way street, and so is sexism.

Woman insults DaveyCrockett, must be a feminist...

Woman pours drink on guy's food, must be a feminist...

Why don't I make some assumptions too? Maybe she didn't like you grabbing her butt when you opened the door for her? Maybe the guy having dinner insulted the woman who poured a drink on it?

smh...

You're already making assumptions. Crockett didn't say anything about either of the boorish women being feminists.

Now say how either I or he obviously don't get laid enough. That's your next move.

@The great and illustrious trysts. hmmm yes you could be right, its more for a pleasant cup of tea, what to suggest for gin? maybe 'play that funkie music white boy?

Its not what a women wants that is the issue, its what she is prepared to settle for.

MikeCrockett

I think Davy preferred Whiskey. I'm not a drinking man myself. That said I can appreciate equal rights for women. If your choice of poison is Gin more power to you. :-) really tryst, I'm not opposed to your feminist views. I simply think feminist should recognize their own version of sexism can be just as bigoted as men. that is a generality and I recognize the examples I cited were in the extreme. by the same token, condemnation of the male sex for the boorish behavior of a few is no different. if you really want to make a difference, focus on the positive behavior you want to encourage.

I don't engage in or care about when y'all have sex, first off. Secondly, I already said I was going to make assumptions to match Davey's assumptions. Not all women are feminists, just like how not all guys can read;)

Well the thing is that the behaviour you cited doesn't give a clue about whether or not those women were feminists? All you cited were two individuals doing something that you didn't like. I don't see what that has to do with feminism?

I honestly think threads like these are a complete joke.

The OP only likes to see things from her own side.

Than she presumes to make assumptions as if being a male in chess is easy?

Well let me tell you something you don't know OP.

You believe a female playing a male is hard on the female?

However, have you ever thought of the flip side?

Do you know how much scrutiny or trash talk a male player gets if they was to lose to a female player?

I have a friend who lost to a girl in hopscotch in first grade.

30 years later we still give him a hard time as if it happened yesterday!

He is not the only one!

I lost to a girl in naming the USA Capitals of each state in 3rd game.

They still give me a hard time over that loss!

I came in 2nd place behind that 1 girl.

I haven't lived it down till this day!

The simply fact is I have never seen a women do such a thing!

I mean honestly do your female friends walk around and tell you. That You have disgraced the female race by losing to a male in first grade in a chess game?

I mean serious?

Males do say these things!

An to prove a point I still get harassed over losing to a girl naming the US State Capitals.

Not to mention what is even worse is the fact the state I got wrong was oregon.

Yeah I will never live this down!

I got oregon wrong.

Which you might not know, but the Capital of Oregon is Salem!!!

You might have heard of the Salem witch trails were they burned women at the stack believing they were witches!

Well my friends sure don't let that one go.

My Friends tell me out of all the Capitals to forget in the world I forgot the best one.

My friends say those women were not witches they were only nagging/bugging there husbands to much!

And the husbands got tired and said "there wife was a witch to get rid of them."

My friends say never in the history of the World has a man been able to get rid of his wife with out giving them half (by divorce)

or

getting rid of his wife with out going to prison

Those men in Salem managed to do it with out giving up half or going to prison!

My friends say out of all the 50+ states in the US I should always get that one right.

I have disgraced the male race by getting this one wrong against a girl!

An the OP thought she had problems?

I have been a disgrace sense the 3rd grade!

You have only recently joined the disgrace ship?

Welcome aboard!

This is your capitan speaking on the SS Failure!

MikeCrockett

well for one thing, when the guy set his food tray down, he left without saying a word to either of the two women seated in the table next to him. he obviously did not know them. The woman who dumped the soda on his food was wearing a tee shirt with a pro feminist slogan. Both women left the cafeteria before the man returned. this event occurred on a college campus back in the 70's when the feminist movement was much more radical . Perhaps I did make assumptions about what happened but by example it was obviously a blow struck against women, not men.

trysts

Or it could be that you don't know what the relationship was between these three people? For almost 40 years you could have just been mistaken?

MikeCrockett

tryst denying the eye witness testimony of someone who was there doesn't mean it didn't happen. A reasonable person would have drawn similar conclusions. one woman was obviously trying to impress the other and the man was simply a victim who did nothing to provoke the incident.

Pulpofeira

But it doesn't look very relevant statistically I'd say. You can find isolated examples to support almost anything.

trysts

I haven't denied any of your eyewitness report, just that what you witnessed could have been misunderstood by you. What was the "pro-feminist slogan" on her shirt?

DiogenesDue

Honestly, X_Player, it just sounds like you need to find some better friends.  Gender be damned.
