Dear chess friends <3
I love this website! However, there is a little thing that bothers me slightly! It's the long move timer, which is enacted when you use more than 50% of your time before the 10th move. This is only 1.5 minutes only during a 3/0 blitz game. That's not a long time for a move at all. I have encountered this several times now, each time forcing me to make a move before I was ready.
I understand that this policy is based on people who abandon games, but this way the website simply dictates my time-management strategies!
I suggest a couple of solutions:
1. Set the long move timer to a minimum 2 minutes for each move. People can wait for 2 minutes, they are chess players after all!
2. A pop-up message that says: "I'm still here", to clarify that you're still thinking.
3. The rule only applies to players who are reported a couple of times for abandoning games.
4. Set the move-limit for the long move timer to 6 in stead of 10. In bullet or blitz, the games often get more complicated in less moves.
I know this has been posted before, and I don't want to be annoying... Still I hope this discussion will continue!
Cheers, vegetaaaaa
