Good courses are Smirnov 's Courses, You can pay for them or you can get them pirated from the pirate bay. Also i agree with some of the advice above.

how do you know you're alive, and not merely walking the Earth

I looked at one of your losses.... assume that if he gets a N on your half of the board, you are going to lose. B pointing at your K masked only by one of his pieces? You're going to lose. Then start doing those things to him.

Someone who isn't losing a lot just isn't playing against good enough players.

there is definitely a balance between playing and studying - i think its good to lose as much as you can take it, but also study when you can - if you're losing due to careless moves, then its prob time to take a break - if you're just playing better guys, learning, analyzing and enjoying, then its great

if you feel down about it, then take a break, ive noticed i play my best when i take 2-4 days off sometimes - esp when the issue is my lack of discipline w calculating every move, including my opponents'

I worked hard playing full time at home for a year on Chessmaster 10th Edition for the PC reaching 2212 ELO win.  However I got burned out after that full time year training.  I personally took 5 years vacation doing other things and now I'm training again hoping to get back into it.  My scores are horrible.  However better than when I first began at 1200 ELO.  I have a long range plan to reach 3000 one day by the time I hit 80 years old.  At least once a day I'm playing the highest level is my plan however it is a horrible feeling to always lose.  But my grandpop always tells me to persevere.  To keep at it and listen to grandma who says believe in Jesus Christ!

3000? What are you talking about?

very mature approach/i won a game from a much higher rated player //        he then posted comments on my sight calling me a punk//and had no skill and relied on " childish tricks " to win/i am 75yrs old /just recently started playing again after  53yr lay off

It's not uncommon for my rating to flucuate 250-300 points. If you're looking to improve your understanding of the game, play slower time controls like 15|2 or 15|10 if you aren't already. Moreover, when you seek games...try seeking a rating of 50 points below your rating, and 200 points above your rating. Play "up" often and learn from the beatings you are likely to take. Focus on learning a thing or two from each game instead of a focus on some number. Improve your understanding, and your rating, in time, will reflect such. #patience Cool

Receipt for winning a lot.

1. Take a rest.

2. Tactics, Tactics, Tactics. Watch dozens of videos how master play or lessons.

3. Play 50-100 games vs 200-300 points at least vs higher rated opponents or Computer 3 hard.

4. Tactics Tactics Tactics.

5. Take little rest. Meanwhile analyse some games that you lost.

6. Come back and play at your rating pool and you will see how easy is to crush players you previously lost. Remember to play agressive attacking style of chess and always pressure your opponent on the clock. Many games are lost/won simply becouse of time trouble.

It's tested and it works.

As a drummer when THAT happens to me, I was given this advice;                                             EMBRACE the suck.    ENJOY the suck.    BECOME the suck.   Wink

I HAVE A SOLUTION FOR YOU!!

If you play OTB tournaments, you can try this (I think it is not prohibited to go to a OTB tournament with a Darth Vader fantasy):

Just drink some water, rest your mind, don't overextend yourself, and make sure to stop when you need to take a break and when you're stressed just move onto your couch and relax wink.png
