losing due to computer fumbles

Hi. I suck at chess but I'm losing now because my computer is hyper sensitive. I try to click on the pieces I want and click on the position to move them. However, sometimes the pieces follow when I try to move the cursor. Is there a way to disable that ? I am using a lap top with a touch pad.  No mouse.  Would really appreciate some help. thank you

thank you Martin. I found the move method in the link you provided , but , I noticed it was already on click, not click or drag. I think that for some reason my pieces are being dragged anyway.
