Yes, bro is right
losing games to my own bad play
working hard to improve and improving are vastly too very different things -- hard work does not make things go right -- only being in the right spot- at the right time- and very importantly- most importantly the critical piece ---making the right decision--- that is the problem

It seems like that sometimes, doesn't it? But trust me. There is not a single person I know who worked hard to improve and then didn't improve. You will (you already are) making progress! The most important thing is to stay positive.
(And I'm not just saying that as a motivational thing. Reputable peer-reviewed studies show that positive thinkers perform significantly better in both general performance as well as learning new tasks!)
again working hard-- thinking positive thoughts-- and basically doing whats right only gets you to the starting line -- you have to be able to cross it to win or even get a chance to win --
but thanks for the thoughts you said it very eloquently and i do appreciate the thoughts
still above 500 as the meds take over and time for bed -- snow storm coming all night much digging in the morning before chess
thursday morning lost a couple games but over 30 moves each so happy about that -- have a few games over 40 moves each so happy about that -- need to start a few new ones
FRIDAY AFTERNOON- a couple games are going to be done can't keep going - but i am over 30 moves in both of those that i will lose soon- i have a couple more games now over 40 moves each so thats a upturn for a change so maybe 35 moves per game should be my goal now ????
SATURDAY MORNING the axe has fallen -- i am now down at 489 -- and i think dropping again this morning -- but most games that are advanced are now over 30 moves and some over 40 so i am ok with the drop because of that --- if only i can keep it up 30/40 moves type games i believe some improvement will be made
Hi from across the lake ;-) Remember, from where you were when you started this thread, improvements HAVE been made!! Keep up the good work and good luck in the snowstorm.
thank-you -- time to stop playing right now and go out a dig out--its up to the hub caps on the car maybe 5 inch or so -- and its coming down really hard now-- so i need to get out of my pj's and get ahead of this mess - another 5/6inchs coming before noon with the blowing wind a little bit of snow moved at a time is the way to go for today --- not much progressing on the chess front this morning -- one more loss but over 30 moves so ok -- two more games started
after a hard afternoon of driveway snow moving and cleaning the porch - and of course the required after nap after meds taken --- i am now ready for a full night of chess -- down to 491 now with a couple of games coming to a close soon - i will probably be closer to 470 maybe even 460 -- but i am now with all my advanced games over the 30 moves per game level and some reaching maybe even 40 so all is not lost --- for the day onward and upward

ok i will 24 hour game only-- set it up i will be there
Bro it's unrated, pls accept

rating doesn't determine everything. Besides, he's half my rating.
Nice! Remember, rating fluctuates. Some weeks you find yourself way below what you normally are at, sometimes you're way higher. Since you're clearly working hard to improve, you should see an upward trend over the next few months and years
