Karate hurts when you lose.
Hypothermia doesn't when you lose. And it's usually a derivative of a sport.

I agree that chess lose hurts more than the others, but when it's real chess, I mean, not in the internet.

I've also shouted in pain after losing some games on the internet :)

True! In internet we can blame other things, like engine or some kind of help used by the other player, but I agree that some loses hurt even here!
I've lost in MMA and nothing hurts like my second loss. It seriously took me years to get over... I'm not sure I'm over it now and it was in like 2008.
Edit: Yeah, I still question myself because of it
I'm trying to tell you something here. If the IOC could ?,,,,believe me they would. It's that popular WW. It'd be a hit explosion. But, they can't justify it. They'd get their tushy's sued from other board game commissions for not letting them participate.
Keyword: Floodgates.
And BTW, ping pong works up a physical sweat. And, baseball is in the Olympics.
How'd the x-games come 2 b ? 'Cuz the IOC wouldn't let them in either.
The first part of your post makes no sense whatsoever. Being a private organization and business the IOC is under no obligation to allow anyone to participate. Might as well say that Pepsi would sue McDonalds for allowing Coke products but not Pepsi products.
What? You think people have never sweated over chess games? And what does working up a sweat have to do with it? I'm pretty sure the mailman works up a physical sweat doing what he does. I guess we can call postal delivery a sport now.
And no, baseball is not in the Olympics. The IOC removed baseball from the Olympics a few years back. Their excuse was that baseball does not have enough worldwide popularity to justify including it in the Olympics, despite the fact that Major League Baseball draws players from all around the would and the fact that there are organized, competitive leagues in many countries, not just the US (Mexico, Japan, the United Kingdom, Ireland, China, the Netherlands, Spain, Australia, Germany, France, Finland, Croatia just to name a few that I know of). The real reason why the IOC removed baseball is because of the steroid scandel in MLB. In a nutshell the IOC chose to punish an entire sport and its players around the world because of the actions of a few spoiled professionals in one country who never would have entered the Olympics in the first place.
I think a big problem is the modern confusion of sport with athletics. For some reason people tend to equate the two. Sport is simply passtime, typically between two or more people, and historically was applied most commonly to games (such as chess) long before organized athletic competitions ever became common. Chess is sport. So is ping-pong for that matter. As is baseball and soccer. sport can be athletic, but doesn't have to be. Meanwhile a person who runs two miles a day (not competitively, but merely running for it own sake) is engaging in athletics, but isn't engaging in sport.
Don't want to lose in Jousting either, likely hurts much more than Chess.
Just ask Henry VIII.
I'm not saying chess is related to intelligence (otherwise I'm a very stupid engineer), but compared to (other) sports, chess uses more of the brain. For example, if I lose in marathon, I can say my body's not good enough, so what? If I lose in chess...
You must be a very stupid engineer. Of course chess is related to intelligence.
I laughed a lot more than I should've!
