Low accuracy

Why is my accuracy percentage always low? I know I'm relatively new to chess, but hey.

talliholic

stockfish gets the accuracy depnding on the blunders and best moves you make.

If you had like 40 best moves and like 7 blunders your accuracy would be like 70%

if you had 3 blunders and 5 best moves accuracy was like 40%

If you had no blunders, mistakes, inaccuracies, or missed wins you get like 95%

and if you made no best moves and a lot of blunders then it is like 10% or 20%

So basically for a beginner 20% to 50% is like normal

for intermidiate like 40% to 80% is normal

and advanced is like 70% to 98% is normal

and for titled players it is 85%+

so it is completely fine to get that accuracy if you are 500 rated

I actually get low accuracy scores when I play very low rated players. Your accuracy is punished when you don’t make the best move or choose the fastest mate, but when 6 moves are winning how do you choose amongst them?

Also, your accuracy is punished when you do what your coach says and eliminate counterplay instead of going for the fastest mate. Take that rook instead of leaving it there and going for a #5 instead of #8? Punished.
