He hasn't played in a while. I think he made some errors in the opening just becuase he didn't really know the Reti and he knew that I did, but he had my pieces knotted up good in the middle game. I was lucky to get to the end game even in material.

No, I mean black's current rating. With a rating like that he's gonna really need to play (and win) a lot of games to get to 1200 or 1300.
