Luck in chess, luck in golf, and luck in life

Luck plays a role in chess, golf and life.  Luck in chess seems to me to be very similar to luck in life, but quite unlike luck in golf.

For me, luck in chess = taking advantage of an opportunity. often a hidden opportunity.  Just as in life it is no use having an opportunity unless you recognise it and take advantage of it.

Contrast golf.  Arnold Palmer famously said 'The more I practice, the luckier I get.'  Exactly. But there is nothing 'hidden' about the good lie of a golf ball, or a long putt that goes into a hole.  Yo don't have to recognise your luck - you just go along with it.

An old pithy:

The harder I work, the luckier I get.

Along with that:

Plan your work and then work your plan.

One more:

   Hope is not a plan.

   I almost forgot to add:

Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.

I have observed over a long life span, over and over again, people who are "Waiting for their ship to come in." Waiting to win the lottery. Looking for easy money. And so on. One word defines them: loser.

well that depends if ur opponent has thumb fatigue atm and makes a blunder

We are talking about "luck". A slip of the mouse causing a blunder has nothing to do with "luck"...good or bad. The technical definition of that is " a screw up". We could also define it as: Fehler durch Ermüdung verursacht.
