No, he can't be 3rd. Maybe 100th. There are many chess players stronger than him.

Thanks, I hope next year its Carlsen vs Kramnik ( or Kasparov ), I think only those 2 have a chance against Carlsen.

getting Kasparov to study and play again would be probably hard. Beating carlsen would be a simple task for kasparov in 89 or somewhere there, but now..... maybe not, but then again maybe (i think that Kasparov is carlsen's second

So Carlsen has 3-0 against Aronian since 2009, 2-0 against Kramnik since 2010, is 70-80 points ahead of #2-3 on the rating list, is 5-0 against the current World Champion during the last year, won the tournament with the highest rating average ever this year as well as Wijk with a +7 score and the Candidates, and is currently scoring the highest percentage in a title match in more than a hundred years, and is guaranteed the fifth Chess Oscar for best player of the year in a row. Now if he just can keep this going for another five years or so he might even advance to become the second best player in the world one day, but I wouldn't bet on it :-)

Bravo! The willful ignorance of some of the Carlsen haters is truly astounding.

i doubt 89 kaspy beats carlsen

It is totally irrelavant and not possible to prove. Different era, different opponents, different everything. Plus an 89 Kasparov would not have been able to study Carlsen's 2013 games.
