It's impossible to make money on chesscube no matter how good you are because of the cut the site takes out of the cubits for each game. Like if you bet 100 cubits, you only gain 40 cubits if you win, and lose 100 cubits if you lose. At that rate you will only consistenly gain if you always play opponents rated 200 points below you or under -- and that is also impossible to do, for money.

you CAN cheat in bullet, nothing stops the cheater.

I agree, have some sort of gambling in online perspective is not good, players dont know if the others are cheating by using engine.

It would be nice but someone would have to be willing to pay something and want to receive something. No one can receive something from having others playing chess online. There is no incentive. People want to be a part of the process of the game. Only way I can imagine money can be made is IF there were enough interest in new and young chess players and if you're titled player you could play and teach them on the street similar to what those guys do in the park in New York, for example.
I want to remind you also that even in Soviet Union the best chess players didn't make any money based on demand. They were provided incentives to become good by the state, which was futile for many players even there.
We should just accept that we cannot make money from chess.

well, you've seen a dozen posts about it already and you seem to want to ignore reality, but Know that when It all falls apart--
online chess for money can't work because it is too easy to cheat and too easy to feel that you reason you lost is cheating.

Just wanted to address the above comment. I didn't suggest that there should be cash $ in online chess. I am just saying that money is the incentive for most sports or online games like poker. Since it's too easy to cheat in chess and because it could create gambling accusations and problems it's not an option. Even if there is no gambling per/game and maybe only some prize, if it's done online then there will be cheating too.
There is simply no easy way to incentivize chess playing and it probably would only become popular when celebrities like Arnold Schwarzenegger in the past, would play it. As far as I know no Hollywood and general celebrities promote chess or play it seriously. People like Magnis Carlsen seem to attract people.
even celebs could not make the game famous IMHO. Interactive Video games entertain more and demand less thinking than chess (or other thinking strategy games).
chess might be more (or less), but I think its destined to be an odd hobby; even in places where it universally taught and revered...
