Mathematicians Only!

Clay Institute promised $1 million dollars to anyone who can solve the Riehmann Hypothesis. I am going bankrupt and desperately need money. If ANYONE could please explain the hypothesis to me, I think I can solve it. I already have a basic idea about zeroes. But I really need it put in layman's terms. Thanks.

[Edit: This is not a joke! Can someone please explain??]

If I tell you will you buy me a toaster with the prize money?

Well, I could tell you how to solve it, but then I'd have to kill you.

Actually Euler proved that 1+1=74. Its just a myth, owing to the obscurity of such higher mathematics, that the answer is two.

I think I read somewhere you are also able to sell (the discovery of) prime numbers with a huge amount of digits, if you are looking for ridiculous ways to make money. Laughing

Sounds like

The Riemann Hypothesis cannot be truthful, since "as far as we know, all the nontrivial zeroes lie on 1/2 + bi for some b".

If you need it explained to you, you have no hope of solving it. There are thousands of people with PhD's in mathematics who are intimately familiar with the problem but haven't solved it... yet.

If someone knew the answer, wouldn't they submit the solution themselves?

I know... "explain it to me in layman's terms so I can solve what no other mathematician has, and in time to pay my bills too."

And the disclaimer "this is not a joke" lol

Obvious troll is obvious, but it's good for a laugh :)

Not if they didn't need the money - or the glory.

Not if they didn't need the money - or the fame.

Or if it's been deemed important to keep the solution from the rest of you . . .

If you just teach me how the pieces move, I'm pretty sure I can beat Bobby Fischer. He'll lose on time, won't he?

I wonder.  If they keep digging him up, one of these times he might just walk off.

I've already derived the solution, but can't be bothered to submit it. Just the satisfaction of knowing the answer is enough for me.
