Haha okay...

DrCheckevertim

a perfect example why morphy could never beat kasparov, he didnt have access to this kind of opining eovluition

Nicely done.  Fresh enough to be interesting, from the title alone.  Obvious enough so people understand it is humour...oh wait, this is the Internet.  A small sampling of reactions shows general failure to Reality Check themselves.  I do like the knight fianchetto concept though, if I had thought of it myself I would have made it into a work of fiction, possibly an obsession of a crazy person.  No offence. :)

Can't wait for the sequel Theocracy Chess, where Bishops get castled to safety.

It's good some people can realize some humour ;D

I'm certainly no great chess player by any means, but my first impression of this is that it would fail.  Moving the same piece 3 times in the opening, as well as blocking the bishop from fianchettoing?  That sounds like it can't work.  I don't know...am I right?

The Defense to the Knight fianchetto:

In the above position, Black has prevented White's idea for the time being.

Gives up tempi and the center. But the Black queenside knight gets fianchettoed in some variations of the Ruy Lopez.

A gambit defence, mighty Caesar.  Gambits I believe to be evil and frowned upon by the Gods.  The Queen's Gambit in particular is immodest and unbefitting a high born lady's minions.  Besides which I always lose to it.  Long have I argued that these barbaric devices should be banished, to no avail.  Neither the Senate nor People will heed me.

Do not fight the evil, but rather absorb its essence and be done with it.  The gambit can very quickly expose the weak, but also the strong.  But be aware, experiencing the power of the gambit is poison.  Do not become the barbarian that throws everything he has at once.  Rather, learn the art of refinery and overthrow those who oppose you.

I hear and obey "Ignavi coram morte quidem animam trahunt, audaces autem illam non saltem advertunt."

I'll have the knight fianchetto with lobster and crab cheese sauce and don't skimp on the pepper

Yes but the kings pawn will be taken

Here_Is_Plenty

Well I have a book from the 17th century on chess theory and it clearly says "Get thee the pawns from thy path; Your rooks will then tear bloody swath."  Good enough for me.

An interesting form of development or rather non-development - don't think it'll catch on somehow. I like the way white declined the e5 pawn, obviously worried it might lead to a mating attack as in the Marshall ;)

Well, 'twas just an example. Black could play any move, doesn't matter

I was joking/being ironic. Good spoof article by the way.

Black might not do what you showed us.
