after e4,e5,n-f3,n-c6,b-b5,a6 you could have taken the c6 knight & worsen his pawn structure and contineue with o-o, n-c6,r-e1 ..............................
Im Quite a low rated player so think I missed a lot of tactical motifs and strategies I could of used. Please give some advice. 10 minute time control, im black, he ran out of time

@chillbro123 when your opponent plays weird like that there’s no reason to go defensive on move like 10... you should have struck back sooner.

He actually wasn't playing that badly.

it's the mindset.

I don't know if I can post more than once, but I need advice on defending against an attack. Like what are some good principles, besides keeping a clear head?
In the following game, I don't panic, but still blunder the advantage, and suffer an attack that could have been reversed several times. The time control is 10|5, team match.
Sorry for the late post, but this game just ended today. It was a Daily Chess game with 3 days to make a move. This was the sixth time I have played against this opponent, and I won three and drew two of the previous games. So I began the game thinking I had a realistic chance of winning, which is unusual for me. I failed to take advantage of a lead in development and then failed to capitalize on the position of my opponent's king, stuck in the center. Then I lost a pawn but fought back for a draw in the endgame, despite still being a pawn down. I know my annotations are lousy, so I am trying to step them up. I have not done the computer analysis of this game.
I just noticed a typo in my annotations. For move 33, I meant g4+, not e4+. I can't even annotate without making mistakes.

As usual, thanks for looking at these games, Jesse! This was part of a Lone Wolf series (8-player round robins) played online, 90 + 30.
