Hi Jesse,

I wanted to present one of my painful losses from my most recent tournament but I haven't finished analyzing them yet (because I only gathered the will to do it a few days back), but here is a team game I played against an 8 year old talented boy rated 1941 last month. He was a surprise weapon the other team used and they played their usual top board player on board 2. Unfortunately for them, the boy fell into an opening trap, which is a good one for people to know about. So hopefully this game is instructive to some of my fellow amateur friends.

Time control: 90/40 SD30 +30".

Thanks,

Vishnu

Hi Everyone, if you haven't already seen, we've moved the show to next week, same time. Too much at stake in the last round of the Sinquefield Cup!

POST YOUR GAME BELOW to have it analyzed by GM JESSE KRAAI on
Wednedsay September 4th on www.twitch.tv/jessekraai

At 1:00 pm Pacific time!

3 HOURS LONG!

The goal of the show is to help you analyze your games - the true path to improve your chess. So write out as much of your thinking as you can in your annotations. Tell us where the game was played and the time control too. If you look up past threads you will find many fine examples of amateur players writing about their games.

Is this free?

Rats!!  I'll be out of town on the 4th.  Oh well, there's always next time...

Again, thanks for doing this, Jesse! This is an OTB game, game in 2 hours, 5-second delay. I spent way too much time early in the game, then made a dubious bishop move before cracking completely, eventually simply blundering a rook.

Yes, it is! The only requirement is that you annotate your game so that Jesse can read your thoughts during and after the game about the moves you played. Then he provides his own insights, which is what makes this a stellar show.

You can always watch the recording that should be available if you go to Jesse's Twitch channel or you can also find these videos if you type Jesse Kraai in the search box on Twitch.

Hey Jesse, I really appreciate the work you do with your videos.  I went through your videos on the Fischer Endgame, which were excellent.

I just watched most of your first twitch video on The Road Back to 2500.  In it, you mention something about doing problems and particularly endgame problems to overcome carelessness.  Dvoretsky's last book, Recognizing Your Opponent's Resources have a series of problems designed to strengthen this.  I I would say the majority are middle game problems, though there are also endgame problems too.

In the video, you mention fitness.  Don't underrate this.  I am over 60 and it gets more important and difficult as you get older.

Great games posted!

This game was played as a part of an online ligue, 45+45 min. It was a very long game (3 hours and 40 minutes in total), with I believe interesting endgame which started rather early in the game. I think you might find it interesting. I made some annotations when I analysed it afterwards. I played as black.
