Hi, can you look at this game please? I was black, and besides a mouseslip I think I was doing pretty well. Any suggestions on how I can improve? Here is the game.

You had checkmate!

I changed my username because I hated my old username, Paul_in_NJ, and wanted something chess related. I also hate the way I play chess, but changing that is much harder. What should make this game especially interesting is that my opponent, maxmlynek, submitted his own annotations, so the game will be annotated from both sides. This was a 45+30 Ladder game played on November 21. It was a rematch after our first game, in which I was crushed, so I began the game feeling even more pessimistic than usual. I was going to submit our first game, but he convinced me that our second game would be more interesting to be reviewed on stream. I will use M: to denote maxmlynek's annotations. Playing against me was so easy that he ended the game with more than 50 minutes on his clock. Perhaps I will submit our first game for a stream in 2021.

Last month, GM Kraai asked me to submit a game in which I beat my opponent badly. I was uncomfortable submitting a vanity game for the stream, and I learn more from my losses anyway, but if anyone wants to see a game in which I played competently, I submitted it near the end of the thread for the November game reviews. This can be seen here.

I resigned after move 32. The moves beginning with 33 were a suggested continuation from maxmlynek. I didn't know how to post that properly.

Hello Jesse, hope you take a look at a 45+45 online game I played during quarantine. I found it complex all the way through. Thanks, and merry christmas!

Hi

This is a OTB game from before the pandemic, as P.hD thesis, pandemic and two children is making it difficult to get any long games in these days.

While I win the game it showed quite of few problems in my game.

(1)A lack of planning in the middle game, this is especially true in structures where the position is somewhat symmetric.

(2) Not looking for the best blows, an example is 18.f4 as an obvious move to consider.

(3) Getting a winning position, but being unable to find a killing blow, this get me more and more frustrated. When I am then surprised by a move, I overreact in an attempt to not let the game slip

Hi, my name is Julian, I'm a huge fan of ChessDojo. This is a 60min+30s game I played as white, I'm pretty sure I starting messing it up around move 12-13.
