Which do you prefer, Lots of Minor pieces or a few Major pieces? Examples of these imbalances include:

2-4 pawns against Knight/Bishop
Two Minor pieces against Rook
3 minor pieces against two rooks
Rook and minor piece against Queen
2 Rooks against Queen.

I usually prefer the more minor pieces against the major piece because I like to have everything defended and the major piece can't usually defend against all the threats made by minor pieces.

of course there is the possability of a minor piece and pawn for rook to be taken into consideration.
