Misclicks

If I misclick it's entirely my responsibility. It happens because of my sloppiness or time trouble, my mouse was not in good condition or I was playing on a tiny touch screen. It can be for whatever reason but it has nothing to do with my opponent so I will not expect him to offer me a draw or a takeback. And vice versa, I will not spend even a second of my time to try to understand if my opponent has misclicked ot just blundered. A move is a move, period. I think it's the most straightforward, honest and simple approach.

I’ve picked up the wrong bishop OTB. “Misclicks” happen there, too.

You'd better learn that your mistakes are supposed to be exploited, that's the whole point of the game. You should be thankful to your opponent for profiting from your mistakes

Lol, just imagine some person out there with inherited tremor reading that like: meh

when I make misclick I say WHAT THE F&#$&@$@$&@&🤬

Depending on the situation I try to make a move that offers the piece they would have captured if not for misclicking. Of course, there are considerations to be made, as I'm not completely ruining my position to do so.

It’s a personal choice based on why you play. If you play a friend for fun you’d let him take it back. How about a “misclick” option allowing a take back and the game proceeds if the button is pushed within 5 seconds of the misclick? Or an option to play like daily where you see your move and can study it before you click the check mark. Might slow play.
Back to the point, I would give a draw if I believe it was a misclick, not an instantly regretted blunder, and I wasn’t winning anyway. But I get the other point of view.

On the rare occasion when my opponent makes an obvious misclick, I tend to offer a draw and agree to one if he asks for it.  It seems like both good sportsmanship and a no-brainer to me, since in real chess, which this site is presumably supposed to represent, such a thing would never happen.  However, when I make a misclick on occasion, I've found that some opponents greedily capitalize on it.  Thoughts?

* BTW, I am talking about unambigious misclicks, such as ruining your own castling in an even position, not claimed misclicks when the misclicker is down.

I applaud your good sportsmanship, but honestly you’re quite… goofy for thinking that no one will take advantage of your misclicks.

I misclicked and it got my queen killed for free, I had to go on with the game though.

On obvious mislicks, I agree to a draw vs my opponent.

My opponents are high enough rated that I know they didnt intentionally hang their rook in three different ways when the square one over is the best move.

Ok so, 1 of three things nwill to happen, either Chess.com makes it so we have to confirm every move we do, like the daily games, or we get good, or nothing. And we all know which chess.com is gonna do. But also I'd want them to do option 1, bc I can't even count how many times i've lost to missclicks or how many times ive blundered my queen bc of a missclick. And some points to go towards the first option is, You can't miss click irl duh, thats called a blunder, not a miss click and you can own up to that blunder, but to miss click and lose bc of it that's just so cruel feeling

Afilthycasual108

I think we can all agree with what I said, if you don't you either, A. you will soon or B. trying to act all 'special' and lying, or C. you actually havnt missclicked ever, and have no clue what we are talking about.

Misclicking is kinda common. Just be careful when playing with opponents. Be cautious and try not to get mad or sad. It's pretty common, even i misplace a piece when playing a chess match

^^^^^^^^^^ Especialy when you missclick a queen blunder when seeing where you can move it to get out of danger

DannyStarfy

EdAussie that's not very nice. A misclcik is common for everyone. Cautious is also important

DannyStarfy

A queen blunder doesn't mean you like lost something you always need to have.

so, one time I didn't even missclick, but my brother just came in and blunder my queen when I was playing on moblie once, we don't have to worry about him anymore though, Cuz I literally locked him in his room for like 2 hours till he said he was sorry, and he knew never to mess with my chess games ever again.

Afilthycasual108

(P.S. the lock on the outside of the door can only be locked and un-locked from the outside, but he alright, intil he touches my game again)

(P.S.P.S. This was also when I was realy competitive in chess)

If you say so .-.
