I’m really struggling to understand the theory tables used in this book. Can anyone explain to me?

Thanks but it’s not exactly what I’m looking for- I mean this- but it makes no sense to me. I understand what the squares are, just don’t get how to read table https://en.m.wikibooks.org/wiki/Chess/Opening_theory_table

To spell it out, a little more: After 1 d4 Nf6 2 c4 e5, White might play 3 d5 or 3 dxe5.

After 3 d5, play might continue: 3...Bc5 4 Nc3 d6, resulting in an equal position.

After 3 dxe5, Black might play 3...Ne4 or 3...Ng4.

After 3...Ne4, play might continue 4 Nf3 Nc6 5 a3 d6 6 exd6 Bxd6 7 Nbd2 Bf5 8 Nxe4 with a slight advantage for White.

After 3...Ng4, White might play 4 Nf3 or 4 Bf4.

After 4 Nf3, play might continue 4...Bc5 5 e3 Nc6 6 Be2 0-0 7 0-0 Re8 8 Nc3 with a slight advantage for White.

After 4 Bf4, play might continue 4...Nc6 5 Nf3 Bb4+ 6 Nbd2 Qe7 7 e3 Ngxe5 8 Nxe5 Nxe5 with a slight advantage for White.
