More and more leave-game players

Unfortunately, it often happens to me playing with leave - game players.  It seems that there is big number of this kind of players. They abandon games and make You to wait very long time for the end of the game. The worst part of it is that it happens mostly when these cheaters are loosing the game and then leave game or wait for them 25 minutes to move.  It's a pity that these people make playing chess through the internet so unpleasant...I deeply bielieve we should respect ourselves and our time.  thank You

It's poor sportsmanship to be sure, but I'm amused if they think that's all they can do since it's not helping them win at all.  I just imagine how frustrated they must be.  But yeah, if they're going to just disconnect or sit there and let their time run out, they might as well take up stamp collecting.

or they go and watch some videos or bake cookies. I don't know. if I did something like that I wouldn't just sit there.

If you respect yourself and your time, just resign and move on.  These kinds of minor nuisances are only an issue if you value a few trifling rating points more than you value your own lifetime.  Who cares if they get a couple points off you?  Twenty five minutes of my life is worth a lot more than that.  Isn't yours?

Good point.

Before playing look at their profile did they just join the site? jobbers who just joined are not to be trusted does your opponent have a checkered history of stalling and time squating, trash talking, using cheap shots, game dropper, cheater?!

Do your research before agreeing to play.

First of all, thanks for Your posting. Nomadic Knight and Monkstyle Your point of view makes a lot of sense to me thats for sure but it isnt all about points from a particular game I am not obsessed with gaining points I play chess for fun. But if someone takes his and for example my time I would love to have the game nice and fair. Anyway I take it as a  rude behaviour and not fair play quiting games and thats all. Take care ! The best New Year's Eve !
