More than 1 coach?

So I have started taking online lessons with a pretty good coach recently (NM) and things have been going well. Last week, I joined a chess club (something my coach advised though I always planned to) and the club has a few strong players one of which is a master (one of two) at the same level as my coach and he is willing to teach me a bit.

Would it mess up my development if I started listening to two different people or the more the merrier?

Thanks.

Not really ... sponge as much as you can...you can learn a lot from anyone 400 points better you and clubs are a great place to get tips and pointers.

Though in case of conflicting  views, I'd tend to go with a) the one who's getting paid to work with you  b) the one who has a better understanding of your weaknesses/has gone over your games a lot more and c) the one who still has fire in his belly => meaning the one who still plays competitively OR has played competitively until recently.

Normally not, especially if they're both good enough not to teach you wrong things. The more approaches you know, the better. That's why I have a full-time coach, but also hire people for training sessions & seconds (for important events). Wink
