Ooolala. And that was back when I was skinny!!!

 I got you beat, there are at two faculty and at least one other student in my department with on here, all of whom joined the site independently. Plus a guy who plays in the library down the bottom of my street. The famous Akiko is or has been (I think) a student of the same university in a department round the corner from mine.

Hey, Akiko, we could meet for a cup of tea and put this whole "whether you exist" controversy to bed (perhaps an unfortunate turn of phrase there).

(Must get tiring to get accused of not existing simply because you're hot AND clever. That's why I don't put any pictures of myself on here... people would never believe it. Mind you I get that reaction from people who see me in the street.)

 Tell you what else would settle it... Akiko, if you were to post a picture of yourself reading a physics textbook while playing chess in a bikini...

I'm not trying to refute anyone here... but I don't think the debate is whether or not a beautiful girl should be appreciated for being beautiful or not... but how one shows that appreciation.

Unfortunately I couldn't bring myself to read through the whole thread to make sure I'm not talking out my posterior here. The little I read was too painful. So I could very well be wrong.

There is nothing wrong (in my view... there... I'll just keep it to my opinion) with saying a beautiful girl is beautiful, and there is nothing wrong with a second glance. But at times the forum spirit can become that of a tongue-wagging adolescent, and that can start to make people feel uncomfortable.

I'm not sure that was the intent of the original post, and I'm not sure the thread ever got to that point. But I do understand those who have tried to prevent it from getting there.

In my own case... my wife can still make me bark like a dog when she wants... but we try to keep that puppy leashed... and out of the public eye if you will.

I think it's always a healthy reminder that a woman's intellect can be just as (if not more so) sexy than her figure. But I've never met a woman who didn't appreciate being told she was attractive... as long as it's expressed in the appropriate manner.

Not sure a public forum would fit that criteria for most women.

The sad think is this is the first time I have read new topics.
